VISION Process

The VISION process is a structured approach
to improving product, process, service, or organizational
performance. Like many other improvement processes it manages
each intervention as a bound project, however, it differs by
focusing on the interrelatedness of work, accountability, and
environment. Where many other improvement methodologies fall
short is making a change stick. The VISION process focuses on
sustainable improvement through integration with the
organizations routines of processes, procedures and standard
work - integration with organizational DNA.
The VISION process is an integral part of
Integrated Performance Leadership (IPL) in that it requires
all action to be integrated and significant. Significant action
is that which adds value to the customer and reduces waste within
the value stream but is also the most impact. By combining a
number of important performance measures (e.g., cost, delivery,
quality, injuries, etc.) the organization engages in a focused
manner to improve many variables.
Though the VISION process is the standard
tool of the VISION Centers and Networks, it can be applied as
a stand-alone methodology to yield performance improvement as
well.
The VISION process:
- Verify the problem.
- Investigate to determine root cause and
corrective action.
- Standardize the action throughout the
business.
- Integrate action as part of the business
processes.
- Optimize the process to remove waste and
increase robustness.
- No-recurrences of the poor performance.
